The Role

Reporting directly to the CRO, the Business Development Director is an experienced event industry professional capable of selling services to C-Suite and Director-level event professionals across multiple event sector verticals. 


The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in acquiring new accounts and possess a relentless drive to secure new business. A proven track record of success in selling complex, customised solutions for customers is essential. 


The primary responsibilities for the BDD include:


1. Winning new high-value target accounts
2. Expanding into new event verticals

Candidate Requirements

•5+ years selling event technology, event services, or event solutions
•Proven track record of driving new business in both UK and international markets
•Thrives at prospecting, consultative selling, and closing
•Experience, success, and replicable approach to building relations with multiple stakeholders within an organisation
•Strong expertise in consultative, value and service-based selling; enjoys engaging with prospects and using investigative conversations to build strong relationships
•Pragmatic approach to securing new accounts and expanding into vertical markets
•Highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and success in a high-growth business
•Effective team player adept at navigating internal relationships to secure new accounts
•Highly organised and process-driven
•Authentic and compassionate individual committed to doing the right thing for the customer and business
•Experienced CRM user proficient in managing acquisition and account engagement, ideally in HubSpot
•Open to using new tactics and techniques to win the business
•A logical thinker, empathetic, and adaptable
•Competitive, tenacious, and resilient
•Focussed on the best outcome for the customer
•A natural in-person networker and social media savvy

•Equally comfortable using telephone outbound, email, social, and in-person events to build a network
